Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan reiterated his commitment to upholding the integrity of his role as Speaker, emphasising on leading the Assembly impartially and collaboratively with both the ruling party and the Opposition. “Members of both the ruling and opposition parties will be given equal opportunities for highlighting the issues to their Assembly segments and state. We will train the first-time legislators and 13 women legislators by conducting orientation and training sessions to equip them with knowledge needed for comprehensive discussion and effective lawmaking, which will strengthen the Assembly’s capacity to address the pressing issues in the state,” said Kalyan on the sidelines of a welcome programme at the party’s district office, ‘Karna Kamal’. He was given a warm welcome at Nilokheri, Karnal and Gharaunda during his first visit in the district after being elected as Speaker. In a reply to a question related to stubble burning, Kalyan highlighted the importance of responsibility towards environment. He emphasised, “We all need to be serious about environment, as any form of pollution—whether air or water pollution—affects both atmosphere and water quality.
