Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today said that the BJP government has ended the practice of regionalism and nepotism in Haryana and ensured equal development of all sections of society over the past 10 years.

While addressing a gathering on the occasion of the state-level Maharaja Shoor Saini Jayanti in Kaithal, the Haryana CM said that prior to 2014, regionalism and nepotism dominated the state's development, but the BJP government has eradicated these practices and focused on the welfare of all sections of society and the equal development of all regions.

Targeting the Congress, Nayab Saini said, “The Congress leaders who have been raising questions over EVMs should check their deeds first. The Congress is merely spreading falsehoods and creating confusion among the people. While Congress managed to seize power in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana through lies, their governments did not benefit anyone and the truth behind their lies has been exposed.”

The CM said the government has worked with the spirit of ‘Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek’ and it has been forming various policies for the welfare of all sections of society.

“The public has trusted our government’s policies, and as a result, the BJP has formed its government for the third consecutive time. The double-engine government has been consistently working with the aim to make Haryana ‘shikshit, swasth, surakshit aur swavalambi’ (educated, healthy, safe, and self-reliant),” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has pledged to provide scholarships to students of Haryana belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Scheduled Castes (SC), who are pursuing medical and engineering education in any government college across India. To fulfil this commitment, a portal would be launched to grant full scholarships to all SC and OBC students.

During his address, the CM highlighted the initiatives taken for farmers, aged, women and students and said, “The BJP government has started fulfilling all its promises including increasing coverage of Ayushman scheme and free dialysis at government hospitals made during the Assembly elections. Crops are being procured on MSP and jobs are being given on merit in the state.”

The CM further said that the government has set a target to make five lakh women ‘Lakhpati Didi’ in Haryana. Of them, around 1.5 lakh women have been given benefits under the scheme. Besides this, over 15 lakh HAPPY cards have been distributed in the state providing a facility of free travel up to 1,000 km every year to poor families on government buses, with five lakh more to be issued by December 15.

Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal, Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Dr Krishan Lal Middha, MLA Satpal Jamba, former Minister of State Kamlesh Dhanda, and other members of the Saini community were present during the programme.
