The issue of government jobs is being flagged prominently by the BJP national secretary and its candidate from the Badli Assembly constituency, Om Prakash Dhankar, during his poll meetings with an intention to corner the Congress.

The former Agriculture Minister claims that the BJP government had given a large number of jobs during its tenure in the past decade purely on the basis of merit while two lakh more jobs would be given on the same pattern after forming the BJP government in the state for the third time.

‘BJP will give 2 lakh more jobs to youth’

The parchi-kharchi system prevailed in the previous Congress regime in providing government jobs but the BJP ensured the government jobs were given on merit. As soon as the BJP forms government, we will give jobs to two lakh youths on the basis of merit. — Om Prakash Dhankar, BJP nat’l secy

“The Parchi-Kharchi system prevailed in the previous Congress regime in providing government jobs but the BJP on coming to power in 2014 not only stopped this practice but also ensured the government jobs were given on merit to deserving candidates. As soon as the BJP government is formed for the third time in the state, we will give government jobs to two lakh youths on the basis of merit without any slip or expenses,” Dhankar claimed while addressing a poll meeting in Naurang village here.

He said the people of the state had rejected the Congress twice. “The Congress is heading towards disintegration as people have decided to form the BJP government for the third consecutive time.

“The Congress leaders are openly talking about fixing the quota for government jobs and selling them during the election campaign itself. There is a competition among Congressmen who will sell more jobs,” said Dhankar, a former BJP state president.

Launching a scathing attack on former CM Bhupinder Hooda, the BJP senior leader said those who gave the slogan of ‘Chaudhar’ in the elections had confined the government jobs merely to Rohtak during the Congress regime.

“Fertile and costly land of farmers were acquired at government rates during the previous Congress regime in the name of development but the land was later handed over to corporate houses. It worked to ruin the farmers across the state. Now, the farmers are ready to take revenge from the Congress yet again,” he added.

Dhankhar informed Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh would come to Patauda village here on September 28 to address a poll meeting in his favour.
