Taking the momentum of its Assembly win to the next level, the Haryana BJP is going back to the booth level again with a view to achieving its target of enrolling 50 lakh members.

“The BJP is getting a good response from the party cadre and general public at all 20,629 polling booths across Haryana during its ongoing membership drive. We hope to cross the target of 50 lakh in a record time,” BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli told The Tribune.

Badoli today presided over a meeting of the “chhoti toli”(small group) comprising senior BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, general secretary (organisation) Phanindranath Sharma, BJP co-incharge Surinder Nagar, general secretaries Krishan Bedi, Archana Gupta and Surinder Punia and treasurer Ajay Bansal at Panchkula, near here.

Saini, while exhorting the leaders to go all out to make the membership drive a success, asserted that BJP’s double engine government would accomplish the dream of “Vikshit Bharat” by 2047 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sources said the meeting discussed ways and means to make the party’s organisational structure strong, especially in view of the upcoming elections to the eight municipal corporations of the state. “The well-knit organizational is BJP’s USP. We are set to replicate the success of the the Assembly polls in the municipal corporation elections,” the sources asserted.

Meanwhile, it was decided to take the achievements of the 10-year rule of the double engine government to the grassroots level."The people are excited after the formation of the BJP government for the third time. The hopes and aspirations of Haryana’s people would be fulfilled in due course of time,” Badoli added.
