In a surprising turn of events, BJP has retained its hold in Faridabad and Palwal, winning 7 out of 9 seats in the southernmost districts of Haryana. Despite reports of anti-incumbency, BJP’s main rival, the Congress, managed to win only 2 seats, improving its tally from the last assembly election.

BJP’s victory was evident from the start of the vote counting. Vipul Goel won the Faridabad seat with a significant margin of 48,388 votes over Congress’ Lakhan Kumar Singla. Similarly, Rajesh Nagar of BJP comfortably won the Tigaon segment.

Notable winners include Satish Kumar Fagna, who defeated experienced Congress MLA Neeraj Sharma by a margin of 33,217 votes in the NIT segment. Mool Chand Sharma, a sitting MLA and Cabinet Minister, secured a hat-trick from the Ballabgarh seat.
