BJP, Cong intensify campaign, go hammer & tongs to attain victory
With the Assembly elections approaching, the BJP and Congress candidates are making all-out efforts to ensure their victory. BJP candidates in Karnal, Gharaunda, Indri and Nilokheri have intensified their campaigns. The Congress has fielded two candidates, while the candidates in three key segments, Karnal, Indri and Gharaunda, are yet to be named. The BJP fielded a candidate for the Assandh seat on Tuesday.
BJP candidate for the Karnal Assembly segment Jagmohan Anand has launched an aggressive door-to-door campaign along with “nukad sabhas”. His wife, Rekha Anand, is also actively engaging with the voters. Confident of his prospects, Anand claimed, “We will win the seat by a huge margin. Over the last 10 years, our government has developed the city. Manohar Lal ji and Nayab Singh Saini ji have made every effort to ensure inclusive development under the vision of “Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek”.
Former CM Khattar and CM Nayab Singh Saini have already stepped in to quell discontent among rebel leaders in the party.
In Gharaunda, BJP’s Harvinder Kalyan, who has won the seat for two consecutive terms in 2014 and 2019, has intensified his campaign by visiting villages across the constituency. “We will win the seat again, as the party has worked extensively for the Gharaunda segment. We are confident of forming the government for the third consecutive time,” said Kalyan.
Ram Kumar Kashyap, the sitting MLA and BJP candidate from Indri, is also campaigning and expressing optimism about his chances of winning the seat. “People are giving us their blessings, and we will win the seat,” said Kashyap.
In Nilokheri, BJP candidate and former MLA Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi is reaching out to the voters, expressing similar confidence about his victory. It has fielded district president Yogendra Rana from Assandh.
The Congress has fielded sitting MLA Shamsher Singh Gogi, who is making every effort to retain his seat in Assandh. Gogi has been holding “nukar meetings” and door-to-door visits, getting support ahead of the elections.
“The Congress will form the government in Haryana. We will win the seat with a huge margin as people are fed up with the BJP government,” said Gogi.
The Congress has fielded sitting Independent MLA Dharampal Gonder from Nilokheri, who is also confident of retaining the seat. “We will win the seat as people want to bring the Congress to power,” said Gonder.
