BJP aims to make 50 lakh new members in special campaign in Haryana
The BJP has chalked out a strategy to make 50 lakh new members. This was announced at a state-level workshop of the BJP office-bearers held at the party's state headquarters in Rohtak today.
During the workshop, a target of making 250 new members at every booth was given to the party leaders and workers.
It was also stated that the party workers making at least 50 new members would be designated "active workers" and considered for the posts in the party organisation.
BJP national general secretary Dushyant Gautam, national secretary Om Prakash Dhankhar, state in-charge Dr Satish Poonia, organisation secretary Phanindranath Sharma and other senior leaders attended the workshop chaired by the party's state president Pt Mohan Lal Badauli.
Gautam said he was confident that the target set by the BJP in Haryana to make 50 lakh new members would be achieved by the party workers.
"The party organisation in Haryana has to be strengthened from booth to state level in order to ensure that the country moves forward rapidly on the path of progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he maintained.
Addressing the workshop, Poonia said: "The BJP runs on the basis of its ideology and the strength of its workers, who dismantled the narrative set by the Congress in the recent Assembly elections and formed the government for the third time in a row."
Badauli asserted a formidable party organisation would be created in Haryana so that the BJP continued to form the government in the state in future as well. Speaking about the membership campaign, he said advocate Vedpal has been made the convenor of the month-long campaign.
"The BJP candidates have received about 60 lakh votes in the Assembly elections. On this basis, we have set the target of making 50 lakh new members. There are 20,629 polling booths in the state and 250 members will be made at each booth. The work of making active members will start from November 16. As per the party constitution, only the worker who makes 50 members is given some responsibility in the party," he stated.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was also supposed to attend today's workshop, but he could not make it due to meetings in Delhi.
Membership campaign convener Vedpal assured the party leadership that the target to make 50 lakh new members would be achieved. "Workshops woul be organised at the district level on October 28 and 29 and at the divisional level on November 5 and 6," he said.
Haryana ministers Arvind Sharma, Krishan Lal Panwar, Shyam Singh Rana, Mahipal Dhanda, Aarti Rao, Krishan Bedi, former minister Ram Bilas Sharma, Rajya Sabha MPs Subhash Barala, Kiran Chaudhary, Ram Chander Jangra, state general secretaries Dr Archana Gupta, Surender Poonia, party MLAs and other leaders were present.
