Taking a swipe at the BJP government, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that the Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam (HKRN) set up by the state government has become a ‘bhrashtachar ka adda’ (corruption hub) in Haryana.

Jobs on sale

Under the Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam, jobs are sold like goods in a retail shop. Youths are given jobs on contract for one year in this scheme. But the youths are made to pay two months’ salary as bribe out of 12 months. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, ex-cm

Addressing a workers meeting in ‘anaj mandi’ in Hisar today, the senior Congress leader said that jobs are on sale in HKRN.

“Under the HKRN, jobs are sold like goods in a retail shop. Youths are given jobs on contract for one year in this scheme. But the youths are made to pay two months’ salary as bribe out of 12 months,” he alleged.

The former CM alleged that it was a mockery of the future of the youth in Haryana. “There is neither merit nor reservation policy under the HKRN. The jobs are on contract as no employee who gets a job under the HKRN is a regular employee of the Haryana Government,” he said adding that two lakh regular jobs are lying vacant in Haryana.

“Ironically, the same system has been introduced in the Army by way of the Agniveer scheme. This is a cruel joke with the youth of the state and the country,” Hooda alleged.

He stated that the BJP has changed the face of the Haryana Government by replacing the Chief Minister in an attempt to divert the attention of the people. But it is not going to make any impact as the people have geared up to teach the BJP a lesson in the Assembly elections,” he said.

The former CM recalled his tenure stating that the Congress’ policies had helped develop the youth of Haryana into sportspersons, while the BJP’s policies had made the youth of Haryana drug addicts. He said that the BJP government has opened liquor shops in every village, every locality and has made drugs and injections reach every house.

“Criminals are fearlessly resorting to crime and openly committing murders, loot, robbery and demanding ransom. As a result, the life of common citizens and ordinary businessmen has become miserable,” he said, adding that the time has come to free the state from the clutches of crime. When the Congress government is formed, criminals and drugs will not be allowed to stay in Haryana. By establishing the rule of law, Haryana will be made the most-developed state of the country again,” he said.

State Congress president Udai Bhan said this time, the Congress would distribute ticket to hardworking and winning candidates only on the basis of surveys because the Congress is contesting elections to form a government that works for public welfare. “Whereas some parties will contest elections only with the aim of dividing votes. Their aim is to benefit the BJP by dividing the votes of the Opposition. This time, the public has to teach a lesson to these parties, along with BJP,” he added.
