Bhupinder Singh Hooda failed to live up to Congress expectations: Manish Kumar Grover
Senior BJP leader and former minister Manish Kumar Grover today criticised former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda stating that people of Haryana had rejected the Congress and Hooda completely by forming the BJP government for the record third time in the state.
Grover, while interacting with mediapersons here today, said the Congress contested the past three Assembly elections under the leadership of Hooda but all those times, he had failed to live up to the expectations of the Congress high command.
Accusing the Congress and its leader of being anti-Dalit and anti-OBC, the former minister claimed that the Congress, during its regimes, did not take any step for the welfare of people belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and other backward classes (OBCs). He alleged that the Congress leaders even harassed SC and BC leaders of their own party. Many of them had to leave the Congress following the harassment, he added.
Grover alleged that the previous Congress government had acquired costly land of poor farmers at cheaper rates in the name of development works and had later sold it to corporate houses.
“The Congress had pushed the farmers on the verge of devastation by acquiring their fertile land while the BJP government is working to double the income of farmers by executing various welfare policies,” he added.
