Jhajjar, February 7

The Delhi march call by farmers has caused anxiety among industries in Bahadurgarh, on the Haryana-Delhi border. The Bahadurgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) and the Footwear Park Association have written to Deputy Commissioner Shakti Singh and SP Arpit Jain, urging him not to let the protesters sit on the Tikri border, as local industrialists had suffered huge losses due to the year-long farmers’ agitation at Tikri in 2021.

“Farm organisations have given a call for another agitation and many will enter Delhi through the Bahadurgarh-Tikri border. In 2021, the farmers sat on the border, when the Delhi police did not allow them to proceed. Industrialists, traders and small shopkeepers had to suffer huge losses,” said Narinder Chhikara, senior vice-president, Footwear Park Association.
