BJP national president JP Nadda on Sunday promised an increase in the health cover under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya scheme from Rs 5 lakh to up to Rs 10 lakh if the BJP returns to power in Haryana.

Speaking in support of BJP candidate Gian Chand Gupta in Panchkula, Nadda said besides increasing the health cover under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Central Government had decided to provide a health cover of Rs 5 lakh to every individual from any strata of society above the age of 70.

Nadda, who is also the BJP president, addressed another public meeting in support of Renu Dabla, the BJP candidate from Kalanaur (reserved) constituency, in Rohtak. He said numerous scams had taken place during the tenure of the Congress governments in the state.

“Land scams were rampant in the state when the Congress was in power. Big businessmen used to grab farmers’ land. Jobs used to be given on the basis of bribe and political approach,” Nadda said, adding that the state as well as the country had progressed under the BJP rule.

“Our country has now become the fifth largest economy in the world. Modi has been made the Prime minister for the third time. The BJP will also form a double-engine government for the third time in Haryana under Nayab Singh Saini,” he said.

Addressing the rally in Meham, Saini said the recruitment process would be resumed after the formation of the next government in the state. “Congress leaders could not tolerate this and put a brake on the recruitment of nearly 25,000 youth. But let me tell you, as soon as the BJP government is formed in the state after October 8, the process of recruitment will start immediately,” he said, adding that in the coming days, the BJP government would give government jobs to two lakh youth of the state.
