Authorities of border districts join hands to stop flow of liquor, cash
The civil and police administration of Sonepat, Delhi and Baghpat of Uttar Pradesh joined hands to stop liquor smuggling, interstate criminals, drugs, illegal money and anti-social elements in the wake of Assembly polls in the state.
A meeting of the inter-state border districts’ heads of civil and police administration was held at the Ethnic India resort on the NH-44 in Sonepat today. Satender Gupta, Commissioner of Police (CP), and DC Manoj Kumar presided over the meeting.
Commissioner Gupta said Sonepat district is a border district and it shares borders with Delhi and Uttar Pradesh due to which inter-state nakas have been laid in the border areas.
He said inter-state nakas adjoining the Uttar Pradesh border had been set up in Khurampur, Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) expressway at Jakholi, Jagdishpur, near Garh Mirakpur police post, Mimarpur police post and Bega Ghat.
Nakas had also been put up adjoining the Delhi borders at Sohti, Kundal Garhi, Jhijholi, Kundli border, Saboli, double bridge in Nahri, Halalpur road, Katlupur, Nahri, Safiabad, Shivpuri, T-point Jati Kalan.
The compliance of the Model Code of Conduct should not be affected under any circumstances, for which cooperation of other states is required, the Commissioner said.
The Commissioner said everybody would have to work hard to stop liquor smuggling, drug peddling and cash transactions and for this, the support of Delhi and UP administrations is required.
