ATM hacker nabbed in Palwal, four cases resolved
The police have arrested a criminal wanted in cases of ATM hacking , thefts and possession of illicit arms. Four cases of ATM hacking have been resolved with the arrest.
A spokesperson of the Police Department said that the accused identified as Amir (30) of Hathin subdivision was nabbed while trying to tamper with an ATM machine at Bada Mohalla on Saturday.
The police team, which raided the spot on the basis of information provided by a resident, found that while the shutter assembly of the ATM was lying broken, it had had a steel leaf or sheet stuck in it. It is claimed that the item being used to break open the machine was recovered and the accused was taken into custody before he could flee. As per police information, Amir was wanted in at least four different cases of ATM hacking registered in the past one year in Palwal and Gurugram districts, besides being involved in theft and possession of weapons in an illegal manner. The accused was sent to judicial custody on Monday after one day police remand, it is revealed.
In another incident, the police have arrested two persons on charges of possessing and providing a country-made revolver in Hodal, a subdivisional town. One of the accused, Shyam Sunder, acquired illicit weapon from Virender alias Viru recently. Both the accused are residents of Garam Patti Mohalla of Hodal. The accused have been sent to judicial custody, it is reported.
