Haryana Assembly poll 2024: Sarpanches from 32 villages of Kaithal lend support to Congress
Kaithal, September 1
In a major boost to the Congress party, sarpanches of 32 villages in Kaithal have extended support to the Congress under the leadership of Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala.
Among those who extended support were key figures such as district president of sarpanch association Sukhwinder, Balwinder, Dyananad, Manjeet, and many others from both the BJP and the JJP backgrounds. The sarpanches condemned the BJP government for its oppressive tactics, including the use of force against sarpanches, lack of development funds for villages in Kaithal. They also criticised rampant corruption and caste-based politics under the BJP.
Surjewala, in his address, welcomed the new members of the Congress and assured them of full respect and support within the party. Surjewala promised to restore and enhance the infrastructure in Kaithal, which he claimed had been neglected under the BJP’s rule.
Surjewala vowed to bring back the strong governance that Kaithal experienced during his earlier tenure, emphasising the need for a government that could ensure the safety and prosperity of both urban and rural areas. He urged the people of Kaithal to support the Congress in the upcoming elections and restore the region’s dignity and development.
