Arvind Kejriwal strikes emotional chord with voters in Rewari
Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday struck an emotional chord with electors stating that he was kept in jail for five months in a false case just for serving the people of Delhi honestly, giving them 24-hour free electricity, setting up excellent hospitals and schools.
Kejriwal was addressing a rally here to seek votes for AAP candidate from Rewari Satish Yadav. The party state president Dr Sushil Gupta was also present on the occasion.
“I was kept in jail for five months. They tortured me mentally and physically in various ways. They had stopped my medicine for many days. I don’t know what they wanted to do with me? They wanted to break me, but they did not know that I am a son of Haryana. They can break anyone but cannot break the person from Haryana. God is very kind to me, otherwise no one would have known about me 10 years ago,” said Kajriwal.
He criticised the BJP and said government schools in Haryana were in dilapidated condition, no one wants to send their child to a government school.
“The AAP government has built such wonderful government schools in Delhi that today even rich people are sending their children to government schools. As soon as the AAP comes to power in Haryana, we will ensure good education and arrange employment. I arranged employment for 12 lakh youth in Delhi. My intentions are clear, I know how to provide a job,” Kejriwal maintained.
He claimed there were only two states in the entire country, Delhi and Punjab, where 24-hours and free electricity was available. “The electricity bill in Delhi is zero. Inverter and generator shops have closed in Delhi. Even in Haryana, only AAP can reduce electricity bills to zero. Modi ji does not provide free electricity in Gujarat, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. They have governments in 22 states where electricity is expensive,” he added.
