Arvind Kejriwal strikes emotional chord with farmers
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal addressed a public meeting in support of party candidate Vikas Nehra from Meham Assembly constituency in Rohtak district today. AAP state president Dr Sushil Gupta and other leaders of the party were also present.
Striking an emotional chord with the farmers and their families, the AAP leader reminded them of their 13-month-long agitation on Delhi borders and the role played by him.
“As the Chief Minister of Delhi, I served the farmers staging dharna at Delhi borders for 13 months. I used to send food and water tankers for them. Eventually, Prime Minister Modi revoked all three agricultural laws,” said Kejriwal. The former Delhi Chief Minister pointed out that BJP MP Kangana Ranaut had demanded that all three agricultural laws be implemented again, which, he said, shows the BJP’s intention. He decried Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s statement that the agitators sitting on the Shambhu border are fake farmers.
Kejriwal claimed that whichever government is formed in Haryana, it will be formed with the support of AAP.
