TheArmy’s Dot on Target (DOT) Division under the Sapta Shakti Command organised an ex-servicemen rally and a medical camp at the Hisar Military Station for 10 districts of Haryana, including Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jhajjar, Jind, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Rohtak and Sirsa, on Saturday.

Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Sapta Shakti Command, accompanied by Maj Gen Amit Talwar, General Officer Commanding, Dot On Target Division, attended the event. Senior military officers and civil dignitaries of Hisar district were also in attendance which included Maj Gen Shrikant Sharma (retired) and former Vice-Chancellor Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), Rajinder Raina, Senior VP and head of operations of Jindal stainless Steel Ltd and Hisar ADC Jayasharadha. The event witnessed participation of more than 1,500 ex-servicemen and their next of kin.

An Army spokesperson said the rally was organised with an aim to reach out to maximum veterans and next of kin and resolve their day to day grievances. The rally culminated with a felicitation ceremony to 48 veer naris/ veer matas, 19 war wounded veterans and eight veteran achievers for their selfless service towards nation building. Twenty one disabled ex-servicemen were also presented with e-Scooters during the rally, of which, 11 were given under aegis of the Directorate of the Indian Army Veterans.

The event commenced with a series of cultural programmes followed by lectures/ talks by representatives of various ex- servicemen agencies such as the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans, Army Welfare Placement Organisation, Defence Pension Disbursing Office, Ex Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme and Zila Sainik Board. The talks were aimed at highlighting the benefits being rendered to the ex-servicemen through various government schemes.

Various banks and MSMEs had set up their stalls to impart awareness to ex-servicemen on various policies and schemes and employment avenues available to these ex-servicemen in the corporate sector. Stalls of various records offices were also established to register grievances of ex-servicemen and assist them in their redressal.

The veterans expressed their gratitude for the excellent conduct of the event by the Dot On Target Division and for the warmth and hospitality extended to the veterans, the spokesperson said.
