Ambala MP reviews progress of various welfare programmes
Ambala MP Varun Chaudhry on Monday directed the district officials to ensure that the eligible beneficiaries get benefits of all government welfare schemes and the applications are processed in a time-bound manner.
The MP held the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at Panchayat Bahwan in Ambala City.
He said, “The officials should work with seriousness and diligence to ensure that applicants get the benefits of welfare scheme in time. Everyone should have the same goal — the area should be developed in all aspects. For this, officers will have to discharge their duties with dedication.”
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta gave detailed information regarding the agenda of the DISHA meeting, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta and Zila Parishad CEO Gagandeep Singh presented a detailed report on the development works being carried out by various departments.
The MP inquired about MG-NREGA and directed the official concerned to make people aware about the benefits of this scheme and ensure that the wages and salary fixed for the employment given under the scheme in the rural areas were paid on time. While reviewing Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana, he directed the officials to ensure that the benefits of this scheme reach the eligible beneficiaries.
The MP also inquired about the applications received under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the process followed under this scheme. He was also apprised of the work being done in the urban areas. Similarly, he inquired about Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana and said the benefit of this scheme should be provided to maximum number of people.
The MP also directed the officials to install solar projects on the vacant lands of the government departments and other appropriate locations.
During the meeting, the MP asked the officials to inspect the construction of community toilets at public places. Special attention should be paid to the repair and cleanliness of the public toilets which have been in function, he added.
The MP said, “A meeting of DISHA was held today and directions have been issued to the officials to ensure that the eligible beneficiaries get the benefits of government schemes in time. The work done by various departments was also reviewed and directions have been issued to complete the pending projects at the earliest.”
