As Haryana gears up to vote tomorrow, two power centres in Ahirwal — Captain House and Rampura House — are once again clashing for supremacy in the region. This year’s contest sees Arti Rao, debuting from Ateli for the BJP, taking on the established political force of former Rewari MLA Chiranjiv Rao, representing the Congress.

Will bring lost glory

Battle of dignity

Despite being the power centre of Ahirwal, Rewari was denied its due for 10 long years. This is a battle of dignity for Rewari. Chiranjiv Rao, Congress Candidate from Rewari

Six-time MP and Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh, the tallest Ahir leader, has thrown his full support behind his daughter Arti, hoping to pass on the political baton to the third generation and cement his family’s prominence in the region. “Arti is taking ahead the family legacy of serving Ahirwal and has chosen her grandfather’s turf for her political debut. She is fighting to strengthen Ahirwal, secure the long-denied recognition it deserves, and will make Ateli the power centre of this region,” said Inderjit. Confident in her campaign, Arti said, “Ahirwal and Ateli have waited long to be heard and yearn for the prominence lost long ago. We will bring the glory back.”

On the other hand, Chiranjiv Rao, emerging as a powerful Ahir face within Congress, is determined to reclaim Rewari’s status as the core of Ahirwal. “Despite being the power centre of Ahirwal, Rewari was denied its due for 10 long years. This election is a battle of dignity for Rewari, and my victory will restore its glory,” said Chiranjiv, adding that his leadership would give Rewari a strong voice not only in the Vidhan Sabha but also in the Cabinet. “The golden days of Rewari during my father’s six terms will return with pomp and show.”
