Ahead of Vice-Prez’ visit, officials check preparedness at Kurukshetra
Tight security arrangements have been made in view of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s visit to Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra on Sunday.
Dhankhar To attend Gita Mahotsav
- Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar will visit Haryana Pavilion located at Brahma Sarovar, during his visit to the Gita Mahotsav.
- He will also pay obeisance at Bhadrakali temple in Kurukshetra.
The Vice-President will attend the International Gita Mahotsav and also pay obeisance at Bhadrakali temple in Kurukshetra.
Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Kurukshetra Development Board, Pankaj Setia, honorary secretary of the board Upender Singhal and several district officials visited the Haryana Pavilion and other locations at Brahma Sarovar to check the preparedness.
The Deputy Commissioner has also issued orders under Section 163 of Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). As per these, to maintain law and order, no vehicle should be parked on both sides of the road within a radius of 100 meters on VIP Marg, NIT-Kurukshetra, Shri Bhadrakali Shaktipeeth and its surroundings. A gathering of five or more persons in the area of 100 m of the VIP route; carrying of sticks, swords, axes, firearms or any other type of weapon; any kind of demonstration within a radius of 500 m of the venue and on both sides of the roads will be completely banned. Legal action will be taken against anyone who violates these orders.
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar will also visit Haryana Pavilion located at Brahma Sarovar, during his visit to the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav.
Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said, “Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar will get a glimpse of folk art and cultural heritage of Haryana. In this Haryana Pavilion, students and faculty of the Fine Arts Department, Home Science Department of the Institute of Integrated and Honours Studies, Red Cross, Kurukshetra University, have showcased the Haryana’s traditional culture and cuisine.”
The university has set up 70 stalls in the Haryana Pavilion, including Haryanvi turban, Maniari, ancient items related to Haryanvi rural culture, Haryanvi food and earthen pots.
