A man was allegedly duped of Rs 4 lakh by a travel agent in the name of sending his son to Dubai. On the complaint of Ranjit Singh of Judda Jattan village in Yamunanagar district, a case was registered against travel agent Jassi Sandhu of Basatianwala village at Bilaspur police station yesterday.

The complainant told the police that he and his son met Sandhu in June 2024. He added that Jassi took Rs 4 lakh from him to send his son to Dubai on a work visa.

“Jassi called me and my son in his office on July 20, 2024, and gave us the final documents. He assured us that my son would get a job in Dubai,” the complainant told the police, adding that his son was not provided any work there and he returned to India after a month.
