After festivals, MC begins special cleanliness drive in Yamunanagar, Jagadhri
After the festivals of Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhaiya Dooj, the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) has started a special cleanliness drive.
Teams of the MCYJ undertook cleanliness work in various areas of the twin cities and villages falling under the area of the MCYJ.
After carrying out cleanliness work, the garbage is being transported to solid waste management plant in Kail village after loading it in vehicles of the MCYJ.
As per available information, all 22 wards of the MCYJ have been divided into two parts-Zone-I and Zone-II.
From ward 1-11 falls in Zone-I and from Ward 12 to 22 falls in Zone-II of the MCYJ.
Chief Sanitation Inspector (CSI) Harjeet Singh, who is heading the Zone-I area of the MCYJ said after Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhaiya Dooj festivals, special cleanliness work was being undertaken to clean all areas falling under the MCYJ.
“On the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha, all areas of the MCYJ are being cleaned. The heaps of garbage are being lifted and transported to the solid waste management plant in Kail village through garbage carrying vehicles of the MCYJ,” said CSI Harjeet Singh.
The CSI said his team members, including Sanitation Inspectors Amit Kamboj, Pradeep Dahiya and Sachin Kamboj were getting the cleanliness work done in various colonies from Ward 1 to 11.
“The garbage accumulated on roads, streets and other public places is cleaned. After cleanliness work, the garbage is being lifted and taken to the solid waste management plant,” said CSI Harjeet Singh.
Meanwhile, the cleanliness work is being undertaken in Zone-II under the supervision of CSI Sunil Dutt.
CSI Sunil Dutt said the teams headed by Sanitation Inspector Govind Sharma, Bittu, Satbir, Sumit Bains, Sushil, Sumit Lathar and Krishna Kumar were carrying out cleanliness work in the wards falling under Zone-II.
“Besides carrying out the cleanliness work, our teams are also making people aware about the importance of sanitation and appealing to them not to throw garbage in the open and empty plots. The team members are appealing to them to put garbage in the vehicle coming into their colonies to collect garbage from door to door,” said CSI Sunil Dutt.
