After the announcement of 67 candidates by the BJP the party has faced revolt across the state.

While OBC Morcha chief Karan Dev Kamboj, Kisan Morcha chief Sukhvinder Sheoran and Ratia MLA Laxman Napa resigned from the party, state minister Ranjit Singh has called a meeting of his supporters on Thursday to chalk out future course of action.

Earlier, Ranjit Singh had vowed to contest “with or without the BJP”.

In fact, what irked the BJP ticket hopefuls is the nomination of at least 10 party hoppers, including three former JJP MLAs, son of a former minister and Shakti Rani Sharma, wife of former Union minister Venod Sharma. They joined the BJP only recently.

Reports said senior leader Shamsher Kharkhara, a strong ticket contender from Meham in Rohtak district, quit the party after nomination of wrestler Deepak Hooda. Similarly, another prominent Dalit leader Seema Gabipur resigned following nomination of JJP turncoat Anoop Dhanak from Uklana.

Former minister Bachan Singh Arya is also miffed at former JJP MLA from Narnaund Ram Kumar Gautam getting party ticket from Safidon. He is exploring the option of contesting as an Independent.

Meanwhile, senior leader Jai Bhagwan Sharma is flexing his muscle in Thanesar from where the party has reposed faith in state minister Subhadh Sudha again.

The nomination of Tek Chand Sharma from Prithla has not gone down well with sitting Independent MLA Nayan Pal Rawat, who supported the BJP government for the past five years.

'BJP straying from its ideology, rewarding traitors'

Alleging that the BJP had strayed from its basic ideology propounded by Deen Dayal Upadhaya and Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, BJP OBC Morcha chief Karan Dev Kamboj, in his resignation letter, alleged that the saffron party was rewarding the traitors who damaged the party over the years. "While committed workers like me are being sidelined, party hoppers, joining the party on the eve of the assembly polls are being rewarded with tickets," Kamboj said keeping his option of contesting polls independently open.
