After three days, a stock of 1,000 DAP bags arrived in Hisar on Saturday, leading to a ruckus among farmers waiting in a queue at the grain market. The authorities had called the police to make arrangements for amicable distribution of the bags.
However, following the high demand among farmers, about 100 of them had to return empty-handed. The authorities said another stock of DAP would arrive tomorrow.
Earlier, in the day, the farmers kept waiting for fertiliser from morning till late evening outside a shop in the grain market. Due to the heavy rush, the police were called and six police personnel were deputed at the shop.
Hansraj, a resident of Dhansu village, said he had come to the grain market at 10 am and there was already a huge rush. He did not get the fertiliser and would try his luck again tomorrow.
Roshan Lal from Kaimri village, who managed to get four bags, said he needed 25 bags and had arrived in Hisar at 5 am. Despite spending the whole day there, he could only get four bags.
The accountant at the Hisar Cooperative Marketing Society shop informed that the stock of 1,000 bags was exhausted today and another stock was expected to arrive on Sunday.
