ADGP gets warm send-off at Madhuban police academy
ADGP Rajender Kumar was given a warm send-off on his retirement at the Haryana Police Academy (HPA), Madhuban, by police officials and personnel on Thursday after a 34-year career. He inspected the farewell parade and took the salute. Following tradition, he was given a ceremonial farewell and he departed from the academy in an open, flower-adorned vehicle.
While exhorting police officers, he said they must unite in their duty to strengthen the force and carry forward its legacy of public service. Kumar emphasised the importance of coordination in gaining public trust. He stressed the responsibility of the police to offer legal assistance to those in need and called on all officers to continue representing the Haryana Police’s motto -- Service, Security and Cooperation -- by working together as a unified team.
Reflecting on his training days, he spoke about role of foundation training played in a successful police career and extended gratitude to his mentors and colleagues. He also thanked DGP Shatrujeet Kapur and HPA Director Dr CS Rao for organising the farewell and conveyed his best wishes to the trainees.
The IGP of the HPA, Dr Rajshree Singh, welcomed Kumar, his wife Neelam, and other guests, highlighting his career achievements.
Kumar joined the Haryana Police as a DSP in July 1990 and became an IPS officer in 2002. He served on various posts, including DSP, Gurugram, SP, Faridabad, SP, traffic, SP, crime branch, and IGP, vigilance, among others. He was awarded the Police Medal for meritorious service in 2016 and the President's Police Medal for distinguished service in 2024.
