Actor Meenakshi Seshadri to perform at Gita Mahotsav
Film actor Meenakshi Seshadri will perform at the ongoing International Gita Mahotsav-2024 in Kurukshetra, where she will portray the role of Draupadi on the main stage. The actor has also released a video clip announcing her participation in the festival. A major highlight is that Meenakshi Seshadri and her team will perform the play ‘Draupadi’, based on the Mahabharata, on December 11 at the main stage of Brahma Sarovar Purushottampura Bagh at 6.30 pm.
An official spokesperson shared the schedule for the cultural programmes, which will take place daily from December 5 to 11 at the Brahma Sarovar, Purushottampura Bagh, The programmes aimed at connecting visitors and tourists with the teachings of the Gita while also bringing to life key moments from the Mahabharata. As part of the celebrations, renowned actors from the film industry had been invited to perform. On December 5, Tanzanian and Haryana artistes will present a choreography performance on the main stage. On December 7, actor Ashutosh Rana and his team will present Hamare Ram, a globally famous play. On December 8, artistes from NZCC will present a cultural programme, while on December 9, artist Manisha will showcase a sand art exhibition based on the Mahabharata, followed by a poetry session with Kumar Vishwas and other poets.
The performance of Draupadi by Meenakshi Seshadri on December 11 will be one of the key attractions of the festival. The play will be performed at 6.30 pm on the main stage of Purushottampura Bagh. With these cultural events, the International Gita Mahotsav-2024 will bring the teachings of the Gita and memorable moments from the Mahabharata to life, making it an enriching experience for all participants and visitors.
Meanwhile, a free Ayush medical camp, exhibition, and yoga camp was inaugurated on Friday in Kurukshetra as part of the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav.
District Ayurveda Officer Sudesh Jatian said as per the annual tradition, the department had organised an Ayush medical camp and exhibition offering Ayush OPD, homeopathy, yoga, medicinal plants, kitchen therapy, and marma therapy.
He further added that the exhibition set up by the department was appreciated by the public. Additionally, people were being informed about the benefits of Tulsi, herbs, and home remedies. Experienced specialists from the department, including Mahipal Singh, Sandeep Gupta, Menka, and Shubham (homeopathy specialist), were providing treatment and health consultations to people through ayurveda and homeopathy. Free medicines wee also being distributed to patients. Moreover, the camp was providing information about the benefits of panchakarma and yoga therapy for various diseases and physical and mental ailments.
