Activists seek launch of AIIMS OPD services in Rewari district
The AIIMS Sangharsh Samiti has stated that it would on Friday submit a memorandum to the Health Ministers of the state and central governments through the Deputy Commissioner to urge them to start OPD services in the name of AIIMS at any given place in the district till the project is completed. It would also seek the construction of an overbridge to connect the AIIMS site in Majra village to the National Highway-11 passing through the district.
Rajendra Nimoth, spokesman for the samiti, said as the process to establish infrastructure for AIIMS had started, the government should also start its OPD services at any place till the project is completed. He claimed that before the Assembly elections, the state government had assured people that this demand would be accepted.
“The state government is to build an over-bridge to establish a road link between the NH-11 and the AIIMS site in Majra village. The drawing of the over-bridge has already been passed by the authorities concerned but no construction work has so far been initiated in this regard,” he added.
Notably, the AIIMS Sangharsh Samiti has been carrying out a campaign for the execution of the AIIMS project for a long time.
