‘Time for change in Haryana now’

Highlighting AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s roots in Haryana, Punjab MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said the AAP leader had already brought about a change in Delhi and Punjab and it was now Haryana’s turn.

During his speech, Hayer expressed joy over the party’s success in Kalanwali, where they had won two council seats. He emphasised the significance of Sirsa, comparing it to Sangrur in Punjab, and declared it the future stronghold of AAP in the state. He said with the rise of the AAP, led by Haryana’s own Kejriwal, the state was set for a major transformation.

Highlighting Kejriwal’s roots in Haryana, Hayer said the AAP leader had already brought about a change in Delhi and Punjab and it was now Haryana’s turn. He pointed out that before the AAP’s entry into politics, education and healthcare were never a priority. Today, even in regions where the AAP doesn’t contest, these issues have gained importance, thanks to Kejriwal’s influence, he said.

Hayer criticised traditional politics, which had long focused on dividing people by caste and religion. He praised Kejriwal for addressing the real issues affecting the common man. He also highlighted the AAP’s achievements in Punjab under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, where over 44,000 jobs were created and significant improvements in schools and healthcare were made.

Sushil painted a grim picture of Haryana, with a large portion of its population living below the poverty line. He lamented the state’s poor education system and rising unemployment, which had led to an increase in the crime rate and drug addiction, he said. Sushil called for a change in leadership, citing Kejriwal’s success in transforming Delhi and Punjab as the model. He also introduced Kejriwal’s ‘Guarantee Card’ for Haryana, which promised 24-hours free electricity, improved government schools and better healthcare services, among other benefits. He urged the people to support the AAP in the upcoming elections to bring about ‘much-needed’ change in the state.
