9 cyber fraudsters nabbed for duping people of Rs 5.6 crore

The Gurugram cyber police have arrested nine individuals for allegedly defrauding hundreds across India, amassing a total of Rs 5.62 crore. The accused reportedly created fake Instagram IDs and engaged in task-based scams to deceive people.

During the operation, police recovered one laptop, eight mobile phones, five SIM cards and two ATM cards from the suspects. The arrested individuals include Gautam Talwar, Shagun Dubey, Sonu, Pintu, Vijay, Suresh, Gurbej Singh, Prasun Tiwari and Divya Srivastava.

Cyber ACP Priyanshu Dewan stated that these fraudsters were identified through data analysis from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). The investigation revealed a staggering 1,391 complaints and 46 cases filed against the accused across the country, with nine cases registered in Haryana, including four in Gurugram.

The police continue to investigate the network and activities of the accused.
