The police have nabbed over 83 persons including 10 proclaimed offenders (PO) and 5 bail jumpers (BJ) in the past 24 hours in the district under the state-wide drive Operation Akraman.
Sanjay Kumar, a spokesperson of the Police Department, here said the arrests were made as part of the special drive carried out on the instructions of the DGP, Haryana. 52 teams consisting of 198 officials and police personnel are engaged in the drive.
The recovery made by the police in the past 24 hours include 200 bottles of illicit liquor and cash. 10 POs, five BJs and two cattle smugglers were apprehended, the police spokesperson said. Besides challaning 386 vehicles, two vehicles were impounded for violation of the traffic norms.
Helpline number 112 was released by the police for providing information about criminal or anti-social activities.
