56 held under Operation Akraman in Faridabad
The police nabbed 56 persons, including 17 proclaimed offenders in the past 24 hours in the district.
A police spokesperson said the arrests were made as part of the ‘Operation Akraman’ carried out on the instructions of the DGP, Haryana. He said the action was also in compliance with the measures taken by the police for ensuring the conduction of the election process in a free and fair manner.
It is claimed that while a total of 156 teams consisting of 614 cops were engaged in the drive, the police have been able to arrest a large number of criminals or suspects involved in various types of criminal activities.
The recovery made by the police in the past 24 hours include three illegal firearms, one cartridge, 326 bottles of illicit liquor, 185 gm ganja, four narcotics injections, one motorcycle and a cash of Rs 60,000 from the accused. While eight of the accused have been booked under the Gambling Act, 17 persons have been declared as proclaimed offenders.
In Palwal, the police arrested 69 persons during ‘Operation Akraman’ conducted in the past 24 hours. Among those arrested was a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 5,000.
