53 persons arrested in 47 cases in Nov
While maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety, the Kaithal police have achieved significant success in November. The police arrested 53 accused in connection with 47 cases involving illegal liquor, drug trafficking, theft, robbery, burglary, and possession of illegal arms.
Giving details, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Kalia said the police had solved 23 cases related to property and arrested 28 accused and recovered stolen property worth Rs 25.89 lakh.
In a special campaign against drug peddlers, seven cases were registered under the the NDPS Act and seven accused were arrested. The police have recovered 268 gram of opium, 411 kg of poppy husk, 10.56 gram of heroin, 1.628 kg of chura post, the SP added.
The SP further said under the Excise Act, the police arrested 16 accused. The police also recovered 151 bottles of illicit liquor, 794 bottles of country-made liquor, 13 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor, and 1270 litres of lahan.
SP Kalia said the police also registered one case under the Arms Act and recovered one country-made pistol and one live cartridge. During the month, the police arrested 10 bail jumpers and six proclaimed offenders (POs).
“In addition to tracking crimes, the police conducted awareness campaigns to educate citizens about the dangers of drug abuse and cybercrime,” said the SP.
