A four-year-old girl was raped and murdered by a man in Nuh. Villagers tried to settle the issue in the local panchayat but failed. After that, the police were involved. Taking swift action, the police arrested the miscreant and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

The horrific incident was reported from Jhadoli village in Pinnagwan block of the district. According to the police, the child was missing since Saturday evening and the family tried to “manage” things on their own.

It was today that the police were informed about body of the child being found in the Aravalli foothills and “plans” of a secret burial. The police reached the village took the body into custody and started investigation.

“We got information in the morning today. We got the crime spot examined by a forensic team. The girl went missing while she was playing last evening and children saw the accused take her away. We have nabbed him and will seek his remand on Monday,” said Pinnagwan SHO Subhash Chand.

Sources claimed that during interrogation, the accused has revealed that he had taken her to the hills and raped her. He wanted to flee from there but as the child was crying loudly, he strangulated her.

The preliminary revelations of the post-mortem examination have revealed multiple fractures. It is said that the Meos (the community to which the victim belongs) and Dalits (the accused’s community) tried to sort out the issue in a panchayat where the accused offered “compensation”.

The accused tried to flee after the panchayat but the police formed four raiding teams and nabbed him. Vigil has been stepped up as tension persists between the two communities.

Fearing a backlash, both Meos and Dalits of the area have asked women and girls not to go out alone after evening.
