4 booked for carving out illegal colony on village land
Four persons allegedly carved out an unauthorised colony in violation of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Area Act, 1975, at Raipur village of the district.
On the complaint of the state Department of Town Country Planning, the police have registered a case against Akbar, Ashraf, Aslam and Asjad, all residents of Raipur village.
The case was registered under Sections 7 (I) (II) of the urban area Act at Sadar police station. As per the FIR, the revenue estate of Raipur village falls under urban area of Yamunanagar, therefore the village land is governed under the provisions of the Act.
The accused reportedly carved out an illegal colony on agricultural land in their village without obtaining a licence from the government. They were also laying roads on the piece of land.
The District Town Planner, Yamunanagar, had issued them show-cause notices for submitting the relevant documents regarding any permission sought from the competent authority for carving out the colony. They, however, failed to submit a reply.
