3 sent to 3-day police remand in Karnal shootout
Three persons, who were arrested by the CIA-2 unit of the Kurukshetra police, after a shootout in Karnal, were produced before a court in Kurukshetra today which sent them to three-day police remand.
As per the Kurukshetra police, the CIA-2 unit has arrested Sandeep of Faridabad, Sandeep of Narnaund and Hritik of Bhiwani. The arrests were made in connection with the firing incidents at an immigration centre at Sector10 and a shop of a commission agent in the Pipli grain market. The accused belong to Kaka Rana gang.
Kurukshetra SP Varun Singla said, “On October 23, an extortion of Rs 1 crore was sought from an immigration centre owner and after firing, the accused had fled on a two-wheeler with his accomplice. The case was handed over to CIA-2 in-charge Mohan Lal. Later, on October 28, two persons opened fire at the shop of a commission agent at the Pipli grain market and an extortion of Rs 1 crore was demanded. They had also fired outside a mobile shop at Gharaunda in Karnal on October 28.”
They were arrested by the CIA-2 unit after a shootout in Karnal in which Sandeep of Faridabad, Sandeep of Narnaund, both of whom sustained bullet injuries and Hritik, who suffered injuries after falling from the two-wheeler were admitted for treatment at Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC). After getting discharged, they were produced before a court today and now during the three-day remand, the police will gather information about other accused and involvement in other cases.
Rs 1 cr extortion sought
