3 held for youth’s murder in Gurugram

The Gurugram Police have arrested three persons for allegedly murdering a 24-year-old youth, identified as Atul, whose body was recovered on Sunday at Khedla village in Gurugram district.

According to details provided by the local police, those arrested were identified as Devender alias David (21), Sagar alias Saurabh (19) and Ankit (20), all residents of Khedla village.

A criminal case of murder was registered against them at the Sohna police station (rural). The police officials stated that on scrutiny of their criminal records it was found that Devendra and Sagar had already been booked in connection with a robbery case at police station (city), Sohna in Gurugram district.

They will be produced in a judicial court and taken on police remand for further interrogation and recovery of the weapons used in the crime.

The victim’s father told the police that on October 4, David and Sagar took Atul along with them on their bike after which he did not return home.

On Sunday, Atul’s body was found lying in the bushes on the outskirts of Khedla village in Sohna subdivision. The local police reached the spot and found that both hands had been severed from the body. The cops summoned forensic experts who examined the crime spot and collected evidence.

The body was sent to the district hospital for postmortem examination, which was conducted on Monday.

The preliminary investigations were conducted by the crime branch of Sohna police who managed to arrest the accused within 24 hours of the recovery of the dead body.

During questioning, the accused persons disclosed that in 2022, Atul went to the house of Devender alias David and molested his wife while she was sleeping, and when Devender tried to save his wife, Atul had attacked him with an axe and injured him.

Keeping a grudge, Devender along with his other companions planned to take revenge from Atul and as per the plan. On October 4, Sagar called Atul from his house luring him for drinking liquor and took him to the hills near Khedla village where he gave an injection to Atul when he was drunk to make him unconscious. Then, they killed him.
