The three-day 47th Regional Zonal Youth Festival, 2024, being organised by the Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs, Kurukshetra University, began at Sanatan Dharma College, Ambala Cantonment, on Friday.

The three-day festival will conclude on Sunday. A total of 43 events are being organised at different venues in this festival. The Regional Youth Festival was inaugurated by Geeta Bharti, Commissioner, Ambala Division.

Principal Dr Rajendra Singh welcomed all the participants from various colleges and called upon them to give their best performances.

Chief Guest Geeta Bharti said that today's young generation has a special role to play in preserving the ancient culture. It was essential for students to participate in such cultural activities along with education, she added.

Public Relations Officer Sanjeev Kumar said that on the first day of the festival a total of 17 competitions were successfully organised.

In choreography, SD College, Ambala Cantonment, Rajiv Gandhi Government College, Saha, and SA Jain College, Ambala City stood first, second and third, respectively.

In Haryanvi Loor Dance, SD College, Ambala Cantonment; SA Jain College, Ambala City, and DAV College Ambala City stood first, second and third, respectively.

In Classical Dance (solo), SD College, Ambala Cantonment and Government College, Ambala Cantt stood first and second, respectively.
