Rs 2,050-cr contracts cleared in high-level meeting led by CM

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), Departmental High-Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC), and High-Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC), where contracts totalling over Rs 2,050 crore were approved. Among these, water supply and sewerage management projects worth Rs 729 crore received the green light, achieving approximately Rs 36 crore in cost savings through bidder negotiations.

Cabinet ministers Mahipal Dhanda, Vipul Goel, Arvind Kumar Sharma, Ranbir Gangwa, and Shruti Choudhry attended the meeting. Out of 49 agenda items presented from the Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Water Resources, GMDA, Public Works (Buildings and Roads), SUGARFED, School Education, and Police Departments, 45 received approval.

The approved projects include a 60 MLD water treatment plant in Jind city costing Rs 90 crore, a canal-based water supply scheme in seven Rewari district villages at Rs 15 crore, and four Ranney wells for augmented water supply in Palwal and Nuh at Rs 96.95 crore. Additional projects encompass a water supply augmentation scheme in Behal, sewage facilities in Nuh's Malab village under the Mahagram scheme and an effluent treatment plant in Jagadhri and Yamunanagar with a 19.50 MLD capacity.

Approval was granted for the Rs 832 crore contract to construct Baba Sarsai Nath Government Medical College in Sirsa. Eleven projects under the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) were also sanctioned, including a Rs 16.40 crore contract for a centralised integrated water management system (CIWMS). Moreover, six road projects covering 174 kilometres were approved at an estimated Rs 170 crore, with key projects like the reconstruction of the Dwarka Expressway to IMT Manesar and Mehrauli Road to IFFCO Chowk routes.

The meeting approved the selection of a Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) for the exploration and development of the Kalyanpur-Badalpara Coal Block in Jharkhand’s Dumka District. Rates for printing and supplying textbooks and workbooks for Classes I to VIII for the 2025-26 academic year were also finalized.

Additionally, 66 workstations were approved for the Haryana Space Applications Centre (HARSAC) at CCSHAU Campus, Hisar, along with finalising an agency for maintaining IT infrastructure across government institutions.
