2 lakh low-income individuals to own a home soon
The dream of 2 lakh persons in Haryana to own their home is set to become a reality soon, with the Saini government preparing a blueprint for the Chief Minister's Rural Housing Scheme.
Under the initiative, eligible applicants without land will receive a 100 sq-yard plot each in villages. J Ganeshan, Director General of the Housing for All Department, held a meeting with department officials to provide essential guidelines in this regard.
He said the objective of the scheme was to provide plots for low-income families who did not have their own homes. The successful implementation of the scheme would enhance the living standards of poorer families, allowing them to lead a dignified life.
While directing the officials, Ganeshan said all processes associated with the scheme should be expedited to ensure that the public could access its benefits as quickly as possible.
Last Friday, the Chief Minister held a meeting with senior officials, including Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar and Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goyal, and instructed them that in areas where the plots would be allocated, all essential facilities, such as paved roads, electricity, potable water, streetlights, solar energy and parks, etc., should be ensured.
Furthermore, the government has made provisions to assist beneficiaries in constructing houses on these plots. Financial assistance will be provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) to help them build their homes.
Under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojna, 5 lakh individuals have applied for plots in the state. All eligible beneficiaries will receive the plots in different phases.
Infrastructure works worth about Rs 170 crore will be launched soon in 14 cities under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojna.
During the meeting, it was informed that the beneficiaries who were allocated plots in 14 cities under the Mukhyamantri housing scheme would also receive a financial assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh, facilitated through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
It was also informed that 6,618 flats built by private developers for the EWS category would soon be allotted to applicants registered under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojana in eight districts.
Apart from this, 2,000 beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojana in Sector 23, Jagadhari, would be granted possession of their plots to commence house construction.
