2, including kabaddi player, who questioned Dushyant Chautala injured in attack
Two men, including an international kabaddi player, were allegedly injured in an attack on late Wednesday night in Harigarh Kingan village.
The victims alleged they were attacked for questioning former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala during his election campaign in their village.
The injured identified as Kala, a kabaddi player and Sukhchain, are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Kala accused six to seven people of the village, who organised the programme of Dushyant Chautala, for attacking him.
A video of a man asking questions to Chautala had gone viral on social media.
When Dushyant Chautala was addressing the gathering, Kala questioned and accused him for neglecting kabaddi players during his tenure in the government.
Kala claimed they were not given proper attention on being asked for help, and were advised to switch sports instead.
He accused Raghbir, Bharat, Gurmukh and others for the attack.
On the other hand, Bharat, who was also injured in the clash, denied the allegations and said that Kala, along with others, came to his house, allegedly used abusive language and attacked them.
Sub-inspector Rampal, investigating officer from Cheeka police station, said, “Both sides were injured in the clash. The police are yet to record their statements. No written complaints have been received. Action will be taken accordingly.”
Meanwhile, the JJP distanced itself from the attack.
“Kala was misbehaving with women, which resulted in an altercation. It has nothing to do with the argument he had with Dushyant Chautala,” said a JJP leader.
