2 arrested for youth’s murder in Rewari

Rewari: The district police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a youth. The arrested accused have been identified as Dinesh Kumar and Nitish Kumar, alias Ravinder, of Chita Dungra village (Alwar) in Rajasthan. The deceased — identified as Mohit, another villager — was killed on the intervening night of July 8 and 9. In the police complaint, Rajesh of Giglana village (Behror) in Rajasthan said his nephew Mohit was found lying on the ground in an injured state near Dinesh’s house. TNS

Youth convicted of sexual abuse

Yamunanagar: An Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Special Court under the POCSO Act), Yamunanagar, has awarded 20 years of rigorous imprisonment to a man for sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl. The judge imposed Rs 26,000 on Jacky (22) of Ashok Vihar Colony. He said that in default of payment of the fine, the convict would undergo simple imprisonment for two years. A case had been registered on July 13, 2023, on the basis of a complaint by the mother of the victim.

Nigerian held with drugs

Gurugram: The Gurugram police have arrested a Nigerian national and recovered 11 grams of MDMA, also known as the ecstasy drug, from his possession. An FIR was registered at the Sadar police station. According to the police, a team of the crime unit, Sector 39 got information that a foreign youth had brought MDMA in the Sector 47 area. Following the tip-off, the team raided the spot and caught a Nigerian with MDMA. The accused was identified as Melvin Dickson, who presently lives on Devil Road in South Delhi. OC
