12 FIRs against farmers for stubble burning in Hisar

The Hisar administration has got the FIRs registered against 12 farmers and imposed a fine of Rs 32,500.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) C Jayashradha said efforts were being made by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department for crop residue management in the district. The ADC issued guidelines to the officers in a meeting held here today.

She said this time the incidents of stubble burning had decreased as compared to previous years. The teams of the Agriculture Department are carrying out crop residue management activities in many villages of the district through awareness campaigns, through which farmers are being made aware to not burn stubble and to manage it properly.
