11 stolen tractors recovered, 1 held in Gurugram

The Gurugram police have arrested a member of a gang of thieves involved in stealing tractors. Eleven stolen tractors and two trolleys have been recovered from his possession.

According to the police, the accused was identified as Nakhruddin, alias Nakhru, a resident of Bhandara village in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. The accused was arrested by the Farrukhnagar crime unit on November 17 at Inkhaka village in Bharatpur district. The police then took him on an eight-day police remand after he was produced in a city court.

The accused has been involved in cases of tractor theft, attempt to murder, robbery, assault and possession of illegal weapons, and all these cases are registered against the accused in Gurugram, Faridabad, Nuh and Rajasthan.

During police interrogation, the accused confessed that he had committed 20 tractor thefts in Gurugram district and five in Rewari district, and that he would commit the crime with the help of his associates. After stealing the tractor, they would make fake documents of the stolen vehicle and sell it in Uttar Pradesh for nearly Rs 4 to Rs 5 lakhs.

“A total of 17 cases of theft have been registered against the accused in Gurugram, followed by two in Faridabad and one in Nuh. Nine cases under the Arms Act, and those related to theft, assault, robbery and attempt to murder in Rajasthan have been registered against him while another case of robbery has been registered against him in Uttar Pradesh. Two accused, Ibrahim and Sitaram, had already been arrested in the case. We are questioning the accused,” said Varun Dahiya, ACP (crime).
