Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya honours 57 blood donors

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya today honoured 57 centenarian blood donors from different districts of the state during the programme organised by the Indian Red Cross Committee at Aggarwal Bhawan to mark the World Blood Donor Day.
Dattatreya said, “There can be no virtuous act than blood donation. This day is valuable day for Haryana blood donors. Red Cross is taking forward the blood donation campaign efficiently through its 22 district branches. In the year 2021-22, Haryana state Red Cross through its volunteers organised 4,000 voluntary blood donation camps and collected 3.63 lakh units of blood, which is a record in itself.”
Dr Mukesh Agarwal, general secretary, Haryana Red Cross Society, presented 8,400 oximeters to the Health Department in the presence of Director General, Dr Veena Singh. In the camp 62 units of blood were collected by the team of PGI, Chandigarh.
Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, MP Ratan Lal Kataria, Additional Deputy Commissioner Manita Malik, Red Cross secretary Savita Agarwal, treasurer Sushma Sharma and blood donors were present on the occasion.
