Ambala: Cabinet Minister Anil Vij seems to be unhappy with the functioning of some officials these days. After openly claiming that not only his political opponents but also the Haryana Administration attempted to undermine his chances in the election, the Cabinet Minister has made his intentions clear. He recently pulled up the officials for not being present after he reached Ambala post oath-taking ceremony. Known for taking action against officials, Anil Vij said: “The BJP is back in power because it had worked, and only the officials who work will stay.”

‘Transfer’ warning

Jhajjar: After newly appointed ministers, now BJP leader Dinesh Kaushik, who lost the recent Assembly polls from Bahadurgarh, has also jumped onto the ‘warning’ bandwagon. “Even after informing that you are a BJP worker, if any official issues you a traffic challan then note down his number. I will ensure that he is transferred to Mewat from Bahadurgarh as I will live for party workers and die for them,” said Kaushik at a function.

BJP sets eye on MC polls

Panipat: After getting two ministerial berths in the Nayab Singh Saini government 2.0, BJP party workers here are very excited these days and have set their eyes on the Municipal Corporation (MC) polls, which may be organised within three months. The tenure of the general house of the MC ended in January. Now, it is being speculated that the directions of the CM Saini to organise ‘Samadhan Shivir’ in the urban local bodies’ offices is also a step to cash in on the high morale of the party workers as well as of the people in favour of the party. The elections to five MCs in Panipat, Hisar, Yamunanagar, Karnal and Rohtak are pending.

Karnal hopes for Speaker post

Karnal: Residents of Karnal district find themselves without any representation in ministerial positions in the the recently formed government, despite all five of the district’s MLAs being from the BJP. Now, attention has been shifted towards the possibility of securing the post of Speaker or Deputy Speaker in the Assembly. Among the top contenders is Gharaunda MLA Harvinder Kalyan, who has been elected for the third consecutive time. Party leaders and residents are hopeful that the district’s contribution to the BJP’s success will be acknowledged with one of these important roles.

Encroachments back

Rohtak: The local police and the administration are on the back foot regarding the removal of encroachments from the city during the ongoing festive season. The reason behind the ineffectiveness of the authorities is political interference. Traders who have encroached upon public space to set up stalls promptly call up local leaders whenever a police team reaches their premises and asks them to remove the encroachment. The leaders, who have been promising the moon to the residents during their recent poll campaigns then ask officials concerned to go soft on the violations.
