Hamirpur Sainik school celebrates founders day
Woods Park Sainik School here today celebrated its founders day on the school campus near Bani village in the Barsar subdivision.
Maj Gen Sanjay Maini (retd) inaugurated the event and said the objective of Sainik Schools was to prepare young minds to serve the country in various defense services. These schools inculcated discipline, dedication and patriotism among cadets, he added.
He also highlighted the importance of unity, integrity and discipline and role of such schools in building strong community. He also appreciated the cadets for their consciousness about health and hygiene.
Director Sumiti Thakur listed cadets’ achievements — including Samridhi and Tanishka being selected for medical training at IGMC, Shimla.
Anshuman Rana of Class X, a cricket player, received an award for his selection to representing the state.
Other cadets who received citations included Lt Nitin Sharma, Stanzin, Kashish and Avinash Kumar.
Thakur said the celebration reinforced the school’s commitment to foster leadership, patriotism and all-around development of its cadets.
Chairman Vinod Thakur was among those present at the event.
