National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, has been selected by the Ministry of Education for a capacity-building programme on Design and Entrepreneurship (CBDE) in its recent call of proposals.

This was stated by institute Director HM Suryawanshi yesterday. The selection process for the CBDE programme involved various criteria including the merit and relevance of proposal, ranking of the higher education institution among the top institutions in the NIRF framework and enrolment in the National Innovation and Startup (NISP) Policy, he added.

He said the scope of work of the CBDE programme involved curriculum adjustments, faculty mentoring and innovation support.

Dr Rohit Dhiman would lead the project along with Prof Rajeevan Chandel, Dr Ashwani Kumar Rana of the ECE Department and Dr Bharat Bhushan Sharma of the Electrical Engineering Department, he added.

The director said this initiative could lead to the improvement of learning outcomes for students.
