Gurugram to get its power back under Congress: Mohit Grover

Assuring the public of the Congress’ victory in the upcoming Assembly elections, party candidate Mohit Grover said this time, the city would not just get an MLA, but a minister. Accusing the BJP government of letting down the city residents despite them contributing over 70 per cent of the revenue, Grover said Gurugram would now get its due.

“It’s been 10 years but the BJP did not give the city its due through its public representatives. The city’s revenue was used to develop the entire state, but not Gurugram. The public representatives over last 10 years had no say, and thus, none of the city projects could get preference. The Congress will change this. Gurugram is the face of Haryana and it will have power under the Congress government,” said Grover.

The BJP in Gurugram has spread a narrative that if Congress comes to power, all resources of the city would be sent to Rohtak, and it will be the power centre, says Manish.

“Where is their incumbent MLA? He has not even been seen once during his tenure or during his campaign as he has never been allowed to speak. Prior to this, the BJP MLA, who was riding high on the Modi wave, came with a huge winning margin, but kept begging for a ministry for five years. Under the Congress’ regime, Gurugram MLAs have been powerful and an integral part of the government. The Congress is the only way for the city to get its deserving attention and priority,” said Grover.

Challenging BJP candidate Mukesh Sharma for a debate, Grover said while the city sought answers to pending projects such as hospitals, metro and bus stands, he was asking them to vote in name of religion and community.

“Gurugram needs an MLA with spine. One who can stand for its people and fight for the city. The Congress will be Gurugram’s voice,” added Grover.
