Gurugram hotels receive bomb threats, nothing found in search

Panic gripped all five Inde hotels and another hotel in Gurugram after the management received a bomb threats through mails on Monday, following which the police department and bomb disposal squad swung into action and reached the spots to conduct a search operation.

No suspicious object was found during the search, however, the police are still on alert mode as several schools in Delhi also received similar threats.

According to the police, they received information from the hotels’ management, stating that the threats were sent to five branches of the Inde hotel and another through mails. As soon as the information was received, the police got alert and a probe was launched.

Different police teams were sent to the hotels, located in Cyber Hub, Sector 45, and other locations in Gurugram. The hotels were searched with the help of a dog and the bomb squad.

A senior police officer said during the search operations in hotels, no suspicious object had been found. A preliminary investigation revealed that the fake mails were sent to spread panic. They were tracing their IP addresses to trace the accused.

ASI Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson of the Gurugram police, said they received information from the management but they did not receive any complaint in the matter, due to which, no case had been registered.

On the other hand, 40 schools in Delhi received bomb threats through mails on Monday morning. These schools include Mother Mary School, British School, Salwan Public School, Cambridge School. As a precautionary measure, children from all schools have been sent back home.

Special search operations were conducted by police but no suspicious object has been found in any school. It is being said that the person who sent the mail in Delhi’s schools had asked for 30,000 US dollars.

Around four months ago, Ambience Mall in Gurugram had received a bomb threat. This threat was also sent to the mall’s management through a mail, but during the search operation, nothing suspicious was found as it was only a hoax mail.
