Guru Gobind Singh College, SD College win archery meet

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College (SGGS), Sector 26, won the men’s overall trophy, while GGDSD College, Sector 32, bagged the women’s title on the concluding day of the Panjab University Inter-College Archery Championship.

In the men’s event, the Sector 26 team scored 21 points to win the overall trophy, followed by GGDSD College at second position with 15 points and Govind National College, Narangwal (Ludhiana) at third with 11 points. The women’s team of the Sector 32 college bagged 24 points, followed by MCM DAV College, Sector 36, at second position with 16 points and Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, at third position with six points.

The recurve team of SGGS College represented by Animesh, Hariom, Kunal and Karan won the gold medal, while the GGDSD team of Divyansh, Abhishek, Sidharath and Aashish won silver. The Ludhiana team of Abhishek Singh Tomar, Ganesh and Manjot finished third. The SGGS compound team, including,Akashdeep, Gurnoor, Sachin and Nishant, won the gold, while the GGDSD team of Hitesh, Harsh, Aashish and Nishanvir Singh won silver. Panjab University Campus team of Sourabh, Rahul, Priyanshu and Vikram bagged the third position.

In the women’s individual recurve event, Kiran claimed the top position, followed by Samridhi at second position and Srishti at third. In the recurve women’s event, the GGDSD team of Srishti, Guncha, Samridhi and Kiran bagged the top honour. MCM DAV College squad of Jeevna, Tejinder Kaur and Naman bagged the second position. Kriti, Ritika and Simran of Narangwal from Ludhiana won the third position. In the compound event, MCM College team of Kiranpreet, Tania, Tejinder Kaur and Naincy bagged gold medal. The Sector 11 team of Aastha, Ritika and Deepika came second, followed by GGDSD team of Kirti, Vanshika and Srishti at third position.
